International Film Festival Angamaly (IFFA) From January 14 to 18













National award winning Malayalam director and cinematographer Shaji N. Karun, who is currently busy shooting with the much-anticipated Mammootty starrer Kutty Shranku produced by Reliance Entertainment under the banner of Big Motion Pictures, will inaugurate the 3rd International Film Festival Angamaly (IFFA) to be held from January 14 to 18 at the CSA Hall, Angamaly.

Organised by the Chithrasala Film Society, Angamaly, IFFA will screen more than 40 films in various categories: World Classics, Animation, Documentaries, Restrospective and Indian Panorama.

Why Bodhidharma Has Left for the East, Me… Myself, XXY, 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days, Getting Home will be screened in the World Cinema category. In the Indian Panorama section, Satyajit Ray’s Jalsaghar, Mrinal Sen’s Bhuvan Shome, K.G. George’s Yavanika will be screened along with some of the latest Malayalam films like Shyama Prasad's Ore Kadal and Avira Rebecca's Thakarachenda.

The Retrospective will feature films by American filmmaker and theorist Maya Deren, noted Chilean director Alexander Jodorowsky and Czech surrealist Jan Svankmajer, one of the world's most celebrated animators. Many eminent personalities, including Sri Lankan filmmaker Prasanna Vithanage, are expected to attend the festival.
