Haris Jeyaraj Celebrates x-Mas With Poor Children

X-mas celebrated by Mr.Haris Jeyaraj, Music Director, with poor children at a function organized by VGP Parijatham Trust, in Chennai, on 20th Dec.08 at Infant Jesus Church, Guindy. He, later at the function, distributed new Dresses to the children.

The “VGP Parijatham Trust” was established on 8th March 2007 in memory of Smt. Parijatham Panneerdas, wife of the business legend Sri.V.G.Panneerdas, to perpetuate her love of the poor and downtrodden people in the Society. True to name, the Trust aims to spread the fragrance of its avowed objectives and activities of Social service.

The main aim and objectives of the Trust is to render qualitative services to the poor and downtrodden people of the society by making available free food, cloth, shelter, health services, education to children, providing free spectacles and cataract operation for the uncared and unattended senior citizens; bringing computer education to the non-accessed, as also shorthand and typewriting, conducting classes on English fluency, tailoring classes for needy women on reasonable terms, etc., thereby enabling such people to lead a life of dignity, honour and self-reliance. To build Old Age Home and Orphanage etc., for the uncared people is on the anvil.

To feather on its cap, the Trust has organized a function on 20th December 2008 at the “Infant Jesus” Church, Guindy, on the eve of the ensuing Christmas celebrations, where nearly 100 poor children were made cheerful by giving them Gifts and new Dresses. The function started at 06.00 p.m. with the blessings of Rev. Francis Xavier, the father of the Church and was presided over by the famous Music Director Mr.Haris Jeyaraj by cutting the Cake. While delivering his speech, Mr.Haris Jeyaraj praised the social services of the Trust to a greater height, assured his full-fledged support to the Trust and shown eagerness in participating all its future events. When Mr.Arun entered as Santa Claus, he was surrounded by the children with great enthusiasm and distributed gifts to them, which made the function with full of joy and merry. Mr.Shantanoo Bagyaraj, Son of the Cine Actor-cum-Director Mr.Bagyaraj, who was a special invitee to the function, also disbursed the Dresses when Mrs.Usha Rajkumar, Secretary and Mr.VGP Ravidas, Managing Trustee of the Trust, have distributed the Cakes and Gifts respectively, to these children.

The function went on well with entertainment program, which was a feast to eyes and ears, to make the children happy and ended with a sumptuous dinner to fulfill the Motto of the Trust – “Caring for the Uncared”.
